The Body Story Approach
The Body Story Approach in Five Steps: Sense - Decode - Respond Repattern -Embody
Your body has been with you through every season of your life -
The desk you sat at in a job that drained you. The month you held everything together for everyone else. The conversation you did not feel ready to have. The joy that made you feel more alive than words could explain.
Life leaves impressions. It can shape the way you breathe, the way you rest, the way you move, and the way you hold yourself—often before you have found words for what you are carrying.
But your body is a place to come back to.
Body Story is a guided course in body awareness, gentle movement, breath, reflection, and everyday self-care. It helps you listen beneath the noise, understand your patterns with compassion, and respond in ways that feel supportive and realistic for your life.
This is not a typical yoga course.
This is not about touching your toes, mastering a pose, or forcing your body into someone else’s idea of progress. It is not a challenge to complete or a transformation to perform.
Body Story is a practice of body literacy: learning to recognize your own signals, needs, rhythms, and patterns—then building a relationship with your body based on attention rather than criticism.
You will move, breathe, pause, reflect, and experiment. You will learn that a meaningful practice can happen on a yoga mat, but it can also happen at your desk, in your kitchen, before sleep, or in the moment you decide to listen to yourself.
The Body Story Approach:
I developed this five-stage approach to help you uncover the stories held in your everyday experience:
Sense. Notice what is here.
Decode. Become curious about the pattern.
Respond. Try a supportive next step.
Repattern. Return to what helps.
Embody. Carry the learning into your life.
There is no perfect order and no finish line. You may sense before you can decode. You may respond before you fully understand. You may return to the same stage many times, each time with more awareness, more choice, and a little more compassion.
What you will leave with -
By the end of this course, you will have a personal collection of practices—not rules—something you can return to when life feels busy, disconnected, overwhelming, or simply out of rhythm.
You will know how to pause and ask:
What am I noticing?
What might I need?
What is one kind, practical thing I can do next?
That is where your Body Story begins.
